Judith Resnik is an inspiration for all women. A 1966 graduate of Firestone High School in Akron, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1970, and a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1977.

On January 28, 1986, Dr. Resnik and her fellow crew members tragically perished when the space shuttle Challenger exploded just 73 seconds after takeoff.

To keep her memory alive, Women’s Network, Inc. established a scholarship fund to be annually awarded to a female high school senior who has been accepted into an appropriate baccalaureate program at a four-year, accredited college and is pursuing a career in math, science or engineering. The scholarship award is $1,000 per academic year and is renewable for a total of four years.
